Indication:  Mecobalamin is primarily indicated in conditions like Congenital cobalamine malabsorption, Congenital intrinsic factor deficiency, Homocystenemia, Methylmalonylacidurias, Peripheral neuropathy, Pernicious anaemia, Post gastrectomy vit B-12 deficiency, Tobacco amblyopia, Transcobalamin II deficiency, Vitamin B12 deficiency.

Pharmacological Action:

• Mecobalamin: is a cobalamin used in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and as a preliminary treatment for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is a form of vitamin B12 and differs from cyanocobalamin in that the cyanide is replaced by a methyl group. Mecobalamin features an octahedral cobalt(III) centre. Mecobalamin can be obtained as bright red crystals.
